Cacoo release notes

• Search and add media: Search for and find GIFs, icons, and images via the “Media” icon in the toolbar.
• Recommended templates: Discover our most popular templates directly from the dashboard via the templates panel.
• Expanded toolbar: Find charts, avatar stickers, and our code-to-graph feature via the “More tools” icon in the toolbar.
• Increased import size limit: Users can import more files with up to 10 MB for our Free plan and 30 MB for paid plans.

Fixes

• Copy/paste shortcuts didn’t work in Firefox.
• Users couldn’t crop grouped images.
• Resizing images created a lag for users.

• Code-to-graph: Generate graphs and diagrams using text-based syntax.
• Kanban board: Use kanban boards and cards to visually manage workflows and tasks and track progress.
• Keyboard shortcuts: Work faster and smarter with our updated, searchable shortcuts guide.
• Template previews: Get details about a template before using it with the “Preview” button.
• Color codes: Add hex color codes with the # prefix.

Fixes

• The sticky note menu appeared when selecting a text box created immediately after a sticky note.
• Style changes were applied to the first character of a text box even when no text was selected.
• The selected font style wasn’t reflected in the editor menu.
• Line breaks were inconsistent.
• All organization members could enable public sharing in their settings.
• Users with the Arc browser had issues adding shapes.

• Follow mode: Follow diagram collaborators in real-time or invite them to follow you.
• Onboarding: Explore Cacoo’s features and tools with a blank diagram or template.
• Text functions: Entering and editing text is more efficient with spacious bounding boxes that automatically adjust to text size/length changes, +/- inputs to adjust font size, and improvements to managing grouped text boxes.
• Color picker: The color picker can be activated when an object is selected by pressing the “i” hotkey.

Fixes

• Alt + drag to duplicate an object didn’t work.

• Style shortcuts: Style text faster with new shortcuts for strikethrough, alignment, and linking, plus updated tooltips in the floating menu.
• Text style edits: Change text style by selecting the text box or the text itself.
• Font size shortcuts: We updated the increase and decrease font size shortcuts to accommodate a wider range of global keyboards.
• Group/ungroup shortcuts: We updated the group and ungroup shortcuts to align with those more widely used. 

Fixes

• Duplicating an object didn’t work every time.
• Using “Shift” + “Alt” + drag didn’t work.

• Paste table data as sticky notes: Convert copied table data into individual sticky notes.
• Public sharing settings: Prohibiting public sharing at the organization or folder level makes existing public links inactive. Reallowing public sharing requires you to reactivate public links in the share settings of each diagram.
• Multiple file import: Import files to one sheet or separate sheets.
• Adding custom attributes: The user interface features new placeholder text and autofocus. 
• Shortcut addition: “Select multiple objects” is now on the keyboard shortcuts list.
• SVG copy/paste: Paste copied SVG text as an SVG image.

Fixes

• Users with editor permissions couldn’t copy a diagram to the same folder.
• The number in the active collaborators counter didn’t fit correctly.
• The username attached to a selected frame didn’t display correctly when zooming in.
• Unsaved text edits were lost when moving a comment.
• Users with outdated browsers couldn’t access the diagram tool menu.
• The right panel didn’t show/hide correctly when using the “Tab” key.
• Inline links in text boxes couldn’t be edited.
• The “Share” button didn’t work if selected before a diagram loaded.

Fixes

• Dragging an SVG file into the diagram editor caused an XSS issue.
• Users weren’t notified in both Cacoo and via email about diagram mentions.
• Import/export icons for third-party apps didn’t show for Safari users.
• The “What’s new” and onboarding dialogs overlapped.

• Add shapes with one click: Add any shape directly to your diagram by clicking on it in the shapes library. 

• Color matching: The eyedropper tool now considers transparency when copying colors.
• Deleting diagrams: Relabeled delete buttons provide clarity when deleting multiple archived diagrams simultaneously. 
• Responsive tool menu: The tool menu now adapts to smaller screen heights. 
• Help menu: See the same help menu whether you’re in the dashboard or diagram editor.

Fixes

• The share dialog didn’t appear when clicking the “Share” button before a diagram loaded, requiring users to reload the screen.
• Selecting locked shapes caused an error.

• Updated folder permissions: Only diagram owners can move a diagram to another folder.
• Assigning issues from sticky notes: Leave the assignee field empty when creating a Backlog issue from a sticky note.
• Icons refresh: Check out the updated icons in the global navigation’s help menu.
• Selecting locked shapes: Select multiple locked shapes at the same time. 
• Chart legends: Use the kebab menu to expand truncated chart legends or open the data table. 
• Line start and end points: Identify a line’s start and end points with tooltip copy on the line and in the editor menu.
• Text alignment: See your selected text alignment reflected in the editor menu icon.
• Switching shapes: Maintain style settings even when you switch shapes.

Fixes

• Users couldn’t return to Cacoo after signing in.
• Links added to shapes weren’t showing in real-time to diagram collaborators. 
• The link icon was pushed outside the borders of small shapes.
• Scrolling a sheet was slow when editing text within a shape.
• The folder dropdown menu was empty when the owner of the open diagram was no longer a folder collaborator.
