Responsibility Assignment Matrix
Uses of Responsibility Assignment Matrices
A responsibility assignment matrix, or RACI chart, makes it easy to clarify team member duties. RACI is an acronym that stands for Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, and Informed. When a project involves multiple teams or decision-makers, it’s crucial to know who’s handling which responsibilities and who to consult for guidance and feedback.
One of the most important reasons for using a responsibility assignment matrix is to keep stakeholders in the loop at key stages of the project. By making sure the right people stay informed, teams can address all questions, concerns, and suggestions and come to a consensus before making further progress. This saves time and resources and prevents backtracking.
